TRAVEL DISCLAIMER

In consideration for the opportunity to participate in this awesome hike, the participant acknowledges and accepts all risks of injury associated with participation in, as well as transportation to and from Havasupai Falls. The Participant accepts personal financial responsibility for any injury sustained during the hike, or during transportation to and from the trip. The participant also promises to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless any Organizer, member, owner, agent or any other volunteers hereafter referred to as “Staff” for any injury related to, involved in, or arising out of, directly or indirectly, the described activity (or transportation to and from the activity), whether such injury is the result of the negligence of the Staff or otherwise.

If a dispute over this agreement or any claim for damages arises, the participant agrees to resolve the matter through a mutually acceptable alternative dispute resolution process. If the participant and the Staff cannot agree upon such a process, the dispute will be submitted to binding arbitration by a three-member arbitration panel agreeable to the parties. The final decision of this arbitration panel shall be deemed binding and non-appealable and the parties may resort to the Superior Court of Arizona for enforcement thereof.

Registering for one of our trips will act as acceptance of the participation agreement for the person named above and/or any of their dependents or parties being registered for on their behalf.

HELICOPTER DISCLAIMER

The helicopter service is provided by a third-party company – AirWest. We pay AirWest to have our gear and our hiker’s packs transported into the canyon. While it is rare, flight travel may get delayed due to extreme weather concerns, resulting in long waits on either luggage or passenger transportation. Those planning to arrange for their own transportation out of the canyon as helicopter passengers should anticipate a long wait time – regardless of the weather. Many people choose this option – and with only one helicopter able to seat about 5 passengers at a time – the line can get very backed up. Our guide will inform all interested flyers of the best strategy for getting to the front of the passenger line, but please keep in mind that since it is run by a third-party company, we are unable to guarantee optimal seats for you.

BAGGAGE DISCLAIMER

At our guest’s request BG Wild will arrange for packs to be transported via helicopter sling operated by a third-party company called AirWest Helicopters. BG Wild charges a fee to cover costs of transport as indicated above. However, BG Wild is never in possession or liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen baggage. Loosely packed gear has been known to fall out of the helicopter sling. If you intend to use pack transport services and not carry your gear in & out of the canyon we strongly advise all gear to be stored inside your pack or firmly secured with ropes and ties. We recommend prominently labeling your pack with BG Wild and adding your personal contact information in the event it becomes lost. Also, covering your pack with a black trash-bag to protect against dirt is wise. Duct Tape can help but is not a proper substitute for securing gear to your pack with ropes and ties. In the event a bag or gear goes missing during transportation, BG Wild will do everything in its power to help recover the lost items but cannot be held financially liable for their condition or ultimate recovery. That said, our hikers have transported thousands of packs and only minor amounts of gear have ever gone missing. To be safe, keep all car keys, wallets, or other small valuables on your person at all times.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We recommend purchasing Travel Insurance from a private insurance company or using a credit card with travel protection features. Travel insurance or protection may also help with any potential lost or damaged baggage or injury while in the canyon.
